Already in 2011 some 40% of England's muslims lived in London, i.e. over a million (14%) of London's population of 8 millions. From 2% of the population in 2001 muslims now constitute way more than 5% (2011) of the UK population. Mr David Cameron and many from the British political establishment have decided that is best to act in their self-interest and obtain a short political gain, even if on the long term they will hurt the UK interest by portraying the country as an unfair partner. The history has shown us that the politicians which are having as an electoral strategy the denigration of a group of people are losing on the long term.
Some 3 million British citizens are "foreign born"
but BBC's muslim sharia* presenter Mishal Husain is not considered "foreign-born" although her parents were born in Pakistan and she as a child grew up in two of the worst islamofascist countries in the world, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Apparently her parents migrated to UK and shortly after her baby year moved back to muslim countries.
